An electric power distribution system is the final stage in the delivery of electric power; it carries electricity from the transmission system to individual consumers. A control center is an assembly of one or more enclosed sections having a common power bus and principally containing motor control units. A transformer is an electrical device that transfers electrical energy between two or more circuits through electromagnetic induction.

Disconnect/Safety Switches
A disconnect is used to ensure that an electrical circuit is completely de-energized for service or maintenance. A safety switch is a device that quickly switches off the electricity if an electrical fault is detected. A safety switch minimizes the risk of injuries and deaths due to contact with electricity.

Distribution Panel Accessories
Distribution Panel Accessories are designed to provide overcurrent protection or separation of a single source into multiple feeds on the output of a DC source. The panels can be populated with up to 20 breakers and can be wall-mounted or mounted on a relay rack.

Load Centers
Load centers take the electricity supplied by the utility and distribute it throughout the home to feed lights and receptacles. Load centers enclose breakers for power distribution and circuit protection in residential and light commercial applications.

Meter Centers or Sockets
Meter Centers are mechanically and electrically built to bolt up to mains and residential stacks. These devices are primarily used in light commercial applications such as strip malls, office complexes and industrial parks. An electrical socket connects to an electrical device for electricity supply.

Transformer Cabinet
A Current Transformer Enclosure (or CT Enclosure) is a cabinet that houses Idaho Power’s instrument transformers. The metering wires are wires installed in 1” conduit by Idaho Power between the CTs and the meter.

Panelboards
A panelboard is a component of an electricity supply system that divides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits, while providing a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit in a common enclosure.

Transformers
A transformer is an electrical device that transfers electrical energy between two or more circuits through electromagnetic induction. There is an electromagnetic induction that produces an electromotive force within a conductor, which is exposed to time varying magnetic fields. Transformers are used to increase or decrease the alternating voltages in electrical power applications.
