Grounding & Lightning Protection

Boxes, Enclosures, & Fittings
Boxes consist of wall boxes, ceiling boxes, junction boxes and fan fixture boxes. An electrical enclosure is a cabinet for electrical or electronic equipment to mount switches, knobs and displays to prevent electrical shock to equipment users and protect the contents from the environment. Electrical fittings are commonly used. They are light and cheap.

Circuit Protection Devices
Circuit Protection Devices are available in a variety of types, shapes and specific current ratings. A fuse is the most common protection device. A fuse is placed in an electrical circuit, so that when current flow exceeds the rating of the fuse it “blows” or “blows out.”

Conduit & Raceway
Conduit is the tube or trough for protecting electric wiring. A conduit can also be referred to as a duct, pipe, tube, channel, gutter or trench. A raceway is an enclosed conduit that forms a physical pathway for electrical wiring. Raceways protect wires and cables from heat, humidity, corrosion, water intrusion and general physical threats.

Conduit & Raceway Fittings
Conduit is a tube that is used to protect and route electrical wiring in a building or non-building structure. It may be made of metal, plastic, fiber or fired clay. Most conduit is rigid, but flexible conduit is used for some purposes. Raceway Fittings have a low voltage, one-piece hinged design with a single channel surface raceway that includes adhesive backing and shall be made of impact resistant material with a smooth finish.

Controls, Switches & Relays
A control is the device by which the machine is regulated. A switch is an electrical component that can break an electrical circuit, interrupting the current or diverting it from one conductor to another. A relay is an electrically operated switch.

Distribution, Control Centers & Transformers
An electric power distribution system is the final stage in the delivery of electric power; it carries electricity from the transmission system to individual consumers. A control center is an assembly of one or more enclosed sections having a common power bus and principally containing motor control units. A transformer is an electrical device that transfers electrical energy between two or more circuits through electromagnetic induction.

Grounding & Lightning Protection
The primary purpose of grounding electrical systems is to provide protection against electrical faults. Lightning protection is designed to protect a structure from damage due to lightning strikes by intercepting such strikes.

Hanging, Fastening & Hardware
Hanging, Fastening & Hardware are devices that can mechanically join or affix two or more objects together. Hanging, Fastening & Hardware can be used to close a container such as a bag, a box or an envelop or if they involve keeping together the sides of an opening of flexible material, attaching a lid to a container.

Heating, Ventilation & AC
Heating is a form of energy that is associated with the motion of atoms or molecules and capable of being transmitted through solid and fluid media by conduction, through fluid media by convection, and through empty space by radiation. Ventilation is the provision of fresh air to a room, building, etc. An AC is a system for controlling the humidity, ventilation, and temperature in a building or vehicle, typically to maintain a cool atmosphere in warm conditions.

Industrial Automation
Industrial automation is the use of control systems, such as computers or robots, and information technologies. They are used for handling different processes and machineries in an industry to replace a human being. Industrial automation is the second step beyond mechanization in the scope of industrialization.

Lamps & Ballasts
Lamps are a device for giving light, either one consisting of an electric bulb together with its holder and shade or cover, or one burning gas or a liquid fuel and consisting of a wick or mantle and a glass shade. Ballast regulates the current to the lamps and provides sufficient voltage to start the lamps.

Light Fixtures & Accessories
Lighting Accessories allow owners to have better control of their lighting. They make the following possible: directing, reducing, reflecting, and regulating levels of light; holding and ionizing the bulb or light, which limits the current.

Lugs & Connectors
Lugs and connectors are offered in the mechanical and crimp electrical varieties. They are used for underground electrical cables that are to be used in medium voltage applications with splices and terminations.

Safety Products
Safety Products can include safety equipment that ensures workplace safety. Workplace safety can mean different things for different environments. Frost provides high-quality, dependable products that you can trust to keep employees and workers on the jobsite safe.

Voice & Data
A system that supports simultaneous voice and data (SVD) is one that can transceiver both voice and primary data concurrently over one PSTN modem.

Wire & Cable
Electrical wire is the medium through which electricity is carried to and through each individual home that uses electrical power. It is made of a metal that easily conducts electricity, usually copper, in a plastic sheath called an insulator. Electrical cable is made of two or more wires running side by side and bonded, twisted, or braided together to form a single assembly, the ends of which can be connected to two devices, enabling the transfer of electrical signals from one device to the other.

Wiring Devices & Wallplates
Wiring devices are defined as single discrete units of electrical distribution systems, which are intended to carry but not utilize electrical energy. Wall plates are a metal plate that is fixed to a wall for attaching a bracket, wiring, or other device.
